Thonet's Magic Chair

This table magic variation is a twist on the stage telepathic empty chair guess (VOLNO - OBSAZENO). In 1859, Michael Thonet created chair number 14, which became the most famous chair in the world due to its timeless design and continues to be produced. Over 160 years since production began, over 80 million chairs have been made worldwide.

Thonet currently produces 250 different models of chairs. Chair model number 14 now has a bronze statue in Bystrice pod Hostynem and is a spell in your repertoire from MAGIC STUDIA 2000.

• Show the audience chair model 14 and its history. Place a small envelope with a prediction on the table, then add three other chairs of different types (coins, matches, beer cap, etc.). One chair remains empty. Tear open the envelope, remove the paper strip, and stretch it over the chairs. The audience reads which chair is empty: OBSAZENO OBSAZENO VOLNO OBSAZENO.
