Turn any banknote borrowed from an audience member into two halves. Insert a regular pencil between the folded halves and pierce through the folded banknote, showing that the pencil truly passes through the note! There can be no doubt that the banknote is torn. Additionally, you can tear the banknote in half with the pencil lengthwise. Despite the clear sound of tearing the banknote, a simple breath will instantly mend it without any damage at all!!! The pencil and banknote are immediately given to the audience for inspection.
This variation of the banknote tearing trick, performed by David Copperfield as well, was adapted from an American original and is authored by TIMOTHY WENK. A new longer gimmick suitable for Czech banknotes.
